G Suite (formerly Google Apps - Gmail, Drive, etc.)

G Suite is used to provide a common system for students and staff to communicate and collaborate. Google accounts for students, permanent staff, and contract employees are automatically created, and can be accessed through the Staff Portal. Your OCSB email address is Firstname.Lastname@ocsb.ca (or @ocsbstudent.ca). When multiple people have the same first and last name, a number is added to the end (e.g. bob.smith2@ocsb.ca or jack.jones1@ocsbstudent.ca).

Initial Passwords for employees are - e plus employee id (e98765). Employees can change their own passwords using the Staff Password Change Tool (Staff Portal > Password Utilities (left side of portal)). Staff network passwords are synchronized with their OCSB Google passwords.

Student accounts do not have passwords by default and the students’ passwords MUST be set by a teacher using the Student Password Change Tool (Staff Portal > Password Utilities (left side of portal)). Student network passwords are synchronized with their Google passwords.
